VNLA operates across seven distinct regions, each offering its own microclimate and flavor expression:

  • LOBATA: Humid coastal area with intense sunlight.
  • CANTAGALO: Mountainous terrain with cooler microclimates, slow maturation.
  • CAUE: Valley areas with fertile soils, balanced microclimate.
  • AGUA GRANDE: Lower-altitude regions with intense sunlight.
  • ME-ZOCHI: Central highlands with cooler, foggy conditions.
  • LEMBA: Forested areas, high humidity, slow but consistent growth.
  • PAGUE: Coastal plains with excellent drainage and rainfall.

Processing & Transformation

Applies a carefully controlled curing and maturation process that enhances aroma, flavor, and vanillin content while preserving the integrity of origin. Green vanilla is transformed over several months through precise management of time, temperature, and humidity, allowing each bean to develop naturally and consistently.
Vanilla from each region is processed separately to retain its unique profile, ensuring traceability, clarity of flavor, and a refined final product that reflects the terroir of São Tomé & Príncipe.
